Choosing a venue really sets the tone for the type of wedding you will have. Long gone are the days of having to stick to formalities and traditions, and instead couples are seeking out locations that feel more in line with who they are. With so much time and money invested in planning a wedding, why shouldn't you celebrate somewhere with personal meaning?

Nikki & Gwynne are a fun-loving couple who loves to party. Heavy Seas Brewery is very close to their home and one of their favorite spots to hangout. Not only do they spend time here with family and friends, but they have gotten to know many of the staff members as well. Bobby and I met them here for a beer and a tour, to see how this beloved brewery would set the scene for an epic wedding day!

When August 12th rolled around, we were all looking forward to kicking off the celebration. After a tearful first look in the park, we headed to nearby Ferndale Tavern for a "pre-game" round and a quick game of Keno. It was so fun to explore behind the scenes at Heavy Seas, taking photos of this sweet couple amidst the hops.

The ceremony was heart-felt and afterwards everyone was ready for tacos! The informal buffet dinner kept guests very happy, and oh did the queso flow.  Not even a brief torrential downpour could dampen the spirits of this crowd, who laughed it off as rain flowed between the cracks of the tent. 

Once bellies were full, the dancing and games kicked off in proper fashion, and the sun even came back out. It was truly a pleasure to see everyone letting loose and having such a great time, eager to celebrate this beautiful union.
