It's Harder to Untie a Wet Knot at the AVAM

Sarah & Ian | May 27th, 2018

American Visionary Art Museum | Baltimore, MD

Alanis Morrisette sang it back in 1996, "It's like rain, on your wedding day...isn't it ironic?" While no one wants a downpour on their wedding day, I do think bad weather presents an opportunity to embrace reality with a sense of humor and get lost in your love for one another. If a couple, when encountering rain on their wedding day, can allow it to bring them closer together, then I think they've got a great shot at a happy marriage.

As people say, "it's harder to untie a wet knot!"

Sarah & Ian must be destined for a fabulous marriage, with the amount of rain that fell on May 27th! They were troopers about it. With the rain coming down in buckets, our buddy, Michele, at the American Visionary Art Museum, allowed us to explore the typically closed sections of the museum. Sarah & Ian came away with some of my favorite bride/groom photos from the entire year. A gift for rolling with the punches!

This sweet couple met while volunteering with the Peace Corps in Africa. Their wedding was a beautiful celebration of the African culture they love and their hometown of Baltimore. The tablecloth patterns were incredible...as were the crab potato chips! But, what I really loved was watching the fun Sarah & Ian had on the dance floor.

Their love and sense of humor carried them through the day with a smile!

Congratulations to the happy couple!
