Vermont is one of my absolute favorite places to be. It's utterly intoxicating, and that isn't just a joke about how many cows live there. Green Mountain soil feels like sacred ground..this is why I was barefoot when I married Bobby in Vermont back in 2012. My family's roots in the Waitsfield Valley go back to the 1950's and one day we plan on making the great state of Vermont our home. 

So, you can imagine our delight when DC residents Jamie & Gabe chose us to document their wedding at 5 Birds Farm, a picturesque spot in Woodstock. We accepted gleefully, after all, we'd gotten to know this couple at Maia & Dan's wedding last April, where they were the maid of honor and best man. Little did we know how bright the light and love shines around this beautiful duo. 

Besides choosing VT for their nuptials, Jamie & Gabe share another relationship detail with us; they are partners in business too. It's a strong couple that can navigate the complexity of working creatively and professionally together, but when the chemistry is right, it is electric. 

This power couple is madly in love, and not just with each other, but with life. Their curious and hard-working nature has led them to success in journalism over the years, and recently they've put their heads and hearts together to create a crucially important documentary called Transmilitary, currently making its mark at film festivals across the country. I highly recommend streaming it on Amazon Prime or iTunes! 

These vibrant and passionate artists were such a delight to watch at their wedding. Their best man, Dan Bloom, gave a beautiful speech about the light that shines from their souls, and how brightly it burns now that they have found one another. True love is unmistakable and it draws you in like a moth to the flame. No one could take their eyes off of Jamie & Gabe as they sealed their love with heart-felt vows. What a scared thing to witness.
