Maia & Daniel's Wedding | April 7th, 2018

Capitol Hill Hotel & Eastern Market | Washington, D.C.

It makes me happy to see a wedding marked by a personal stamp. For Maia & Dan's special day, it was all about DC living. Eastern Market has been on Capitol Hill since 1876 and the North Hall made for a very cool ceremony and reception spot.

Maia and Dan got ready at the Capitol Hill Hotel, noted for its modern style. When they shared their first look in front of the signature red bicycles, a freakish April snow shower passed through. But, these two simply laughed and held each other closer. From that moment on, I knew nothing could darken the brightness of this day.

It was fun walking through the city that Maia & Dan love, especially as we headed into Eastern Market itself, and their favorite bakery. It's easy to imagine their romantic weekends here, picking up groceries and treats; how exciting to now be here for their wedding!

The ceremony leaves not a dry eye in the room. The bride and groom are held up beautifully by the people they love, and it is clear that these family and friends mean so much to them. I especially love their relationship with their parents.

Once the ketubah is signed, everyone is ready to celebrate the marriage! I loved the heart and humor of the toasts given to the newlyweds, who were so touched. After more tears of joy are shed, there's not a moment to miss: queue the band, time to hit the dance floor.

The father of the groom's band gets the crowd moving, before the party rolls into a late night DJ set. As a DJ himself, this groom is ready to dance and his lady is right there with him. I love the energy of this fabulous couple!

Mazel Tov! We're so happy for you guys!!!
