Alex & Brad's Wedding | March 18th, 2017
Governor Calvert House | Annapolis, MD
Wedding trends are always changing and embracing new, modern traditions and styles. I love the diversity of today's weddings. But, there's something special about a traditional, classic wedding that makes me smile. Alex and Brad's big day was filled with elegance and bursting with LOVE!
These sweethearts met through mutual friends in college, but didn't reconnect until years later. As soon as they started dating, the rest was history! They are so kind and modest, but don't be fooled by their quiet demeanor, they love to have fun. On their engagement shoot, we saw how playful they are together. Brad makes Alex laugh all the time!
On the wedding day, the couple waited to see each other until after the walk down the aisle. It was very romantic. Alex reminded me of Maria in The Sound of Music with her dramatic veil. Saint Dominic Church, where they married, was so stunning it needed no decoration, nothing to distract these lovers from gazing into each other's eyes and becoming husband and wife.
This wedding was beautiful, and did not miss a single detail. Loose, flowing flowers filled the reception space at the Governor Calvert House, a gorgeous historic venue in Annapolis. A navy and gold color palette was topped off by hand-painted lanterns and candles. I loved the cake toppers based on the couple's pet names for each other!
The groom gave a heartfelt speech to honor his bride and all the effort she'd put into planning the special day. Guests were so excited when Alex and Brad began their first dance, a waltz/foxtrot, which they had taken classes to learn and perform. After that, the party was in full swing, with a photo booth and s'mores station.
Not even a little rain could keep the sparkler exit from happening. Friends and family huddled together and lifted their sparklers high to celebrate the newlyweds!
Congratulations Alex and Brad! Wishing you the very best!!!
