Antoinette & James | July 3rd, 2016
St. Francis Hall | Washington, D.C.
When we connect with a family, we get to watch them grow through the years. It's one of the great pleasures of being a photographer! Bobby and I get to witness the big events in a family's life together, and become their friends. The Kilners are one of the families with which we've been fortunate enough to develop this bond.
There are A LOT of Kilners, and the numbers are only growing! So, we get endless chances to spend time with these guys. We fell in love with them back when Angie & Mike got married in 2014. Then, Maria & Jose stole our hearts during their family photos. Before we knew it, Angie and Mike had a new family member to photograph, and our love only deepened! So, when Antoinette and James reached out about us shooting their July 3rd wedding, it was pretty easy to say YES!
These two live in Chicago, and planned their beautiful Catholic wedding from their home. So, it was only shortly before the wedding that we got to get together and raise a glass to the future Mr. and Mrs! We bonded with James immediately, after all, anyone Antoinette Kilner chooses is going to be a great guy.
The big day starts at Toni and Pat Kilner's lovely home, where I photographed Michael's wedding prep only two summers prior. It's so nice to be back with the family, and the kids. Bobby and I love the kiddos in this family so much! Antoinette looks stunning in her dress. She is a classic beauty, it's no wonder James is beside himself when she walks down the aisle. I do love an emotional groom. They say "I Do" and the party moves over to St. Francis Hall. But, not before a walk through the beautiful Franciscan Monastery Gardens.
The hall is packed and the party is going strong with tunes from Lloyd Dobler Effect. The bride and some of the other gals even surprise guests with an Irish Dance Mob, it is incredible. These girls can dance! Food, drinks, and good people celebrating together. I love this wedding. The night ends with a Billy Joel sing along and everyone is handed an American flag to wave. As the clock winds towards midnight, and Independence Day, all eyes are on our bride and groom, so madly in love!
Congratulations to you two lovebirds! We look forward to our next Kilner Family wedding!
