Ashley & Paul's Surprise Proposal l January 17th, 2015

Baltimore, MD

I am sitting on a waterfront bench in Fells Point, completely surrounded by seagulls and a few bossy pigeons, and my heart is pounding. Bobby is across the pier, hidden around the edge of a building, camera ready. Mine is at my side, ready to pull out at a moment's notice...as soon as Paul gets down on one knee. But, not a second sooner! If she sees me, I'll give it away. The pressure! I can only imagine how Paul feels.

The moment two people decide to begin that journey together is so sacred. A marriage, the ultimate partnership. Luckily, Bobby and I have nearly three years of it under our belt, so we take a deep breath and get ready to capture the romance! I feel so lucky to be here, and so happy for these two lovebirds.

Erin, Ashley's little sister, has worked undercover coordinating the photography with us. She is bursting with excitement when she meets us that chilly morning in her bright pink pea coat, steaming coffee in hand. Her big sister is about to get engaged!

As the couple wanders down the wharf, where they started dating nearly 4 years earlier, Ashley is confused. Why is Paul taking this scenic detour and making them late for bunch? He has to improvise when some ill-timed tourists decide to wander down the wharf. But, after they move on, he seizes the moment. She says yes and is caught completely by surprise! She doesn't even notice the cameras until he points them out. She is shocked and throws her hand over her mouth as she laughs out loud.

Soon, family floods in to celebrate and share the day! Congratulations Ashley and Paul!
