This fall is bringing us in contact with some very special people. More specifically, some wonderful couples, who after many years in love, took the step to say "I Do." Michael & Patrick tied the knot after 10 years as partners, Patti & Michael became husband and wife at ages 67 and 70, and on this PERFECT fall day, Karen and Misti celebrated their marriage, after 13 years by each other's side.

The big day welcomes us with blue skies and lovely fall temperatures. We valet at our home base, the beautiful Lorien Hotel in Old Town Alexandria and climb aboard the family bus. We are riding in style, enjoying the views and getting to know some truly wonderful people, as we embark on a "3-hour tour" with the French's and McCluskey's. This wedding is intimate, just family, coming together to hold up a couple they love dearly. It's an honor to share their day.

We begin at the Courthouse in Alexandria, head into the city to soak up the sun at Hirshhorn Museum's gardens, visit MLK Jr. and gaze across the Tidal Basin, wave our flags of victory at Lincoln's Memorial overlooking the National Mall, and pile back in to head to the Lorien. There, after some time to reflect and freshen up, we join the family for rooftop cocktails followed by a teary ceremony, and elegant reception.

This group is tops in my book. So glad to know them all, and so happy for these newly wed wives!
